(recommended age range: 6 - 11)

If you’ve always wanted to play a string instrument… now is your chance! You might have been inspired through our First Experiences programme in year 3, or maybe you’ve seen a brilliant performance and want to have a go. This session is designed for beginners to learn to play violin or cello together as an ensemble under the guidance of our 3 specialist tutors. No previous experience necessary and we can provide an instrument. You don’t need to be having lessons as this group is designed to get you started.

It’s also suitable for young string players already having lessons – the pieces we play will have parts suitable for a range of experience levels, from open strings to first finger and beyond.

We are running open rehearsals on 7th, 14th and 21st October - come along to these free sessions and find out more about the instruments and try some them out, join in some musical games and meet our brilliant tutor team.
