Music is more fun with other people!

We have bands, orchestras, choirs and ensembles where you can get together with other young musicians to create, rehearse and perform.

Membership is £20 per half term (around £3 per session) paid monthly by Direct Debit.

Membership covers all of our groups which means there is no extra cost to join more than one.

Information on support towards the cost of lessons and ensemble membership is available here.

Your teacher can provide advice on which group to choose or you can contact us via music@theatrclwyd.com. You don’t have to be having lessons or attending school in Flintshire to access our ensembles.

Please note, we don’t currently have any groups for adults.

Why Join A Group/Ensemble?

Being in a band, group or ensemble is great fun. But there are loads of other reasons that joining up can be incredibly rewarding – here’s our top 4 to get you started!

  • Teamwork: Playing in a band needs teamwork. It teaches us to work together towards a common goal, communicate verbally and non-verbally, and appreciate the skills of your bandmates. You’ll learn to listen and respond to make a beautiful, harmonious sound.
  • Develop your skills: Playing with other talented musicians inspires and motivates you to push your boundaries and improve. Learning different musical styles can broaden your musical horizons and enhance your creativity.
  • Personal growth: Performing in front of an audience can boost confidence and self-esteem, helping overcome stage fright. Writing original compositions or interpreting existing songs, musicians can learn to connect with people emotionally.
  • Join a Community: Meet like-minded people who share a passion for music. Bandmates often form lasting friendships as well as a sense of belonging and camaraderie that extends far beyond rehearsals and performances.

Our groups and ensembles take part in multiple shows over the course of the year, as well as enjoying opportunities to see professional performances. Sessions take place during term-time in Mold.
