Our History

In 2019 Flintshire County Council’s long-established Music Service was at risk of closure. Losing a service which has brought joy to such a huge number of people as well as produced some of the UK’s finest musicians was not an option, so Theatr Clwyd and Flintshire County Council worked closely together to make sure this did not happen.

In 2020 Flintshire Music Service joined Theatr Clwyd to become Theatr Clwyd Music.

This ground-breaking partnership protects musical education in schools, delivers higher-quality learning to young people and sustains music as a creative pathway for self-expression.

The close collaboration with one of Wales’ biggest arts organisations brings huge benefits - from enhanced resource with access to world-class technical and creative engagement teams, to opportunities to see world-class musicians at discounted rates as part of the learning experience.
